Our reading today in the Tattoo Church Reading Plan is Genesis 25:1-13.
- At the beginning of this chapter we learn that after Sarah died Abraham remarried and had more children. However, God’s promise to bless Abraham with a nation of descendants was through Isaac.
- Then we read that Abraham died at 175 years old and was buried with Sarah.
- Then we read the lineage of Ishmael (the son Abraham had with his maid Hagar). More on this tomorrow . . .
This chapter is mainly a factual account of Abraham and his offspring. However, have you ever thought about what legacy you will leave after you die? Kind of morbid perhaps but seriously; how will you be remembered? What impact will your life have on your family and friends? Will it be a positive impact or negative? Will your life set the example for your children and grandchildren to follow? Live you life in such a way to have the impact you want to have on those closest to you.
