Today we continue in the book of James to chapter 2.
- James warns us not to show favoritism. He says that all people are equal and we are to love others as we love ourselves.
- At Tattoo Church we often say that grace from God is a free gift and James 2 can seem to contradict this but it really doesn’t. It may appear that James is saying that we can work our way into favor with God but he clearly is not. He is simply saying that if we do follow Jesus then our lives should reflect that. That is why he said in verse 18 “I will show you my faith by what I do!”
How does your life show others that you are a follower of Jesus? Is there enough “evidence” in your life that you are a Christian to convict you in a court of law? How does your life look different now from before you chose to follow Jesus? By the way if you’re skeptical about the Bible and this whole God thing, did you know that there is enough evidence to support the Bible that the veracity of it could be defended in court? If you’d like more proof of that feel free to email me at Tommy@tattoochurch.com
