Today we’re reading 1 Corinthians chapter 13. This is an awesome chapter. It has one simple message; love is superior. Sounds simple enough until you really unpack it.
LOVE:
- Is patient and kind
- Doesn’t envy or boast
- Is humble
- Thinks of others first
- Doesn’t have a quick temper
- Doesn’t keep a tally of our wrongs
- Rejoices in truth
- Always protects, trusts, hopes and perseveres
- NEVER FAILS
Paul ends this chapter with these words: “But the greatest of these is love.” Clear and to the point. We can have all kinds of talents and do all sort of good works but without love it’s worthless. How about you: Would the love you show in life pass this test? It’s a simple thing to say, “love never fails” but would that statement echo in your life? Who are you showing love in your life? Who are you withholding love from? In what ways could you show even more love to people around you?
