20 June - 2 Corinthians 10

We’re reading 2 Corinthians chapter 10 today. Below are a few thoughts:
  1. Paul begins this chapter by saying he would like to be able to have good conversations with people at the church hen he arrives instead of tough talks about how they’re not living the way they should be.
  2. Then Paul starts talking about fighting against things that are against God. He isn’t talking about physical violence, instead Paul is saying we have a spiritual struggle going in inside of us and in the world. We should “take captive every thought to make it obedience to Christ.” That’s a seriously committed effort to take every thought and measure it against how Jesus told us to live.
How often do you try to weigh your actions against what Jesus commanded us to do; to love God and love people? Now ask yourself this, do you even keep track of your thoughts to make sure they would please Jesus? As followers of Jesus every action and thought should show the love and grace he’s shown us. In fact, the reason most people are “turned off” towards God and the Church is because too often people who claim to follow Jesus don’t get this right. Our lives should reflect our God. We should strive to become the people he wants us to be.
