8 April - Acts 18

Today we’re reading Acts 18 in the Tattoo Church Reading Plan. Here are a few thoughts:
  1. This is an interesting chapter in Paul’s life. After he left Athens he went to Corinth and began teaching people about Jesus.
  2. After God promises his protection, Paul stays in Corinth a year and a half.
  3. Then Paul went traveling again to encourage some of the other churches he had started.
God tells Paul not to worry about people harming him; that he was with him. This enabled Paul to stay in Corinth for a year and a half. One time a group of his fellow Jews took Paul before Gallio, a local official, and wanted Paul punished for teaching about Jesus. Gallio refused and threw the Jewish leaders out of the court. The Jewish people then turned on the religious leader and beat him in front of the court and Gallio ignored it! Talk about the tables turning in Paul’s favor!

Have you ever had people falsely accuse you of something? Did you trust God to fight your case or did you do it yourself? Better question; have you ever accused someone else of something without having all the details? Do you owe someone an apology? Try to make amends with someone you wronged this week. Even if it was unintentional, if you hurt someone else you need to make it right.
